The short version
RepairVerdict is operated by Smith Performance Productions LLC (“we,” “us”). We collect the minimum information needed to generate your Verdict and deliver it to you. We do not sell your data. We do not share your email address with shops or third parties. We do not collect your phone number on the consumer flow.
What we collect
- Email address. The customer identifier on the consumer flow. Collected by Stripe at checkout, and used by us to deliver your Verdict, transactional updates about your purchase, and an optional review-prompt email after delivery.
- Vehicle information. VIN, year/make/model, mileage, trim, ZIP code (optional). Used to query NHTSA and produce the Verdict.
- Inspection inputs you provide. Reported problems, third-party shop quotes (if pasted), shop inspection reports, modifications, and any photos you choose to upload.
- Display name (optional). First name only is fine; used to personalize the Verdict greeting.
- Payment information. Processed entirely by Stripe — we never see your card number. We retain the Stripe session ID and charge timestamp for accounting.
- Server logs. Standard web-server logs (request IP, timestamp, path, status). Used for security and debugging. Retained 30 days.
What we do NOT collect on the consumer flow
- Phone numbers. The consumer intake never asks for one. We do not send SMS to consumer customers.
- Date of birth, SSN, driver's license, or any government ID.
- Location beyond ZIP code. No precise GPS, no IP geolocation tracking, no mobile-network triangulation.
- Cross-site browsing behavior. No third-party advertising trackers that follow you across the web.
How we use your information
- To generate your Verdict using NHTSA data and your inputs.
- To deliver your Verdict link to your email.
- To process your payment via Stripe.
- To send a single review-prompt email about 24 hours after delivery, asking how the Verdict landed.
- To improve the Verdict engine. We may use de-identified inspection data (vehicle, mileage, findings — no email, no name) to evaluate engine quality.
How we share your information
We share your data with the following processors, only as needed to deliver the service:
- Anthropic (verdict-engine inference). Receives your vehicle info, inspection inputs, and NHTSA data. Does not receive your email address.
- Resend (email delivery). Receives your email address and the Verdict link.
- Stripe (payments + email collection at checkout). Handles your card data directly; we never see it.
- Supabase (database + storage hosting on AWS). Stores all data described above.
- NHTSA(data lookups). We send your vehicle year/make/model to NHTSA's public API. NHTSA does not receive your email address or any personal information.
- Meta & Google ad-platform conversion APIs (only when explicitly enabled by us — see status below). When we enable server-side conversion measurement, the Stripe connector forwards a hashed email + purchase event to Meta and Google so our ad platforms can attribute purchases to ad clicks. Plain-text emails are never sent to these processors. California residents may opt out via the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page when this feature is active.
Status as of May 4, 2026: Meta and Google conversion APIs are NOT currently enabled. We will update this policy and provide a Do Not Sell or Share opt-out link in the footer before activating them.
We do NOT share your information with: repair shops (consumer flow), advertisers (beyond the listed conversion APIs), data brokers, social-media platforms, or any other third party not listed above.
Email messaging
By completing checkout, you agree to receive transactional emails related to your purchase: a payment receipt from Stripe, your Verdict email when ready, and a single review-prompt email about 24 hours after delivery. Every email includes an unsubscribe link in the footer; clicking it removes you from any further messages from us.
Email captures from the funnel
If you provide your email on a quiz or save-progress prompt before completing checkout, we may send up to three short emails over the following week to remind you about your Verdict. Every one of those emails includes an unsubscribe link. Once you complete a purchase or click unsubscribe, that sequence stops immediately.
Data retention
Verdicts and inspections are retained indefinitely so you can re-access your report from the link we sent (until the link expires — 30 days by default). To request deletion of your records, email smithperformanceproductions@gmail.com from the address tied to your purchase. We will purge within 30 days, except for records we are legally required to keep (payment records).
California residents (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, the right to request its deletion, and the right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. Email smithperformanceproductions@gmail.com from the address tied to your purchase to make a request.
We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined by CPRA.
Children
RepairVerdict is for adults purchasing automotive analysis. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
Security
All data is transmitted over TLS. Email addresses are stored in Supabase Postgres with row-level-security policies. Verdict-claim tokens are stored as SHA-256 hashes — the raw token only exists in the email link we sent you. Payment data is handled entirely by Stripe.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be announced on the homepage.
